Jim, a newer side of Katrina

After talking to some friends, I certainly concede to some of what
you say. To me it just seems like a "live" one of those movies,
action-thrillers, I just don't care for.
I agree with the part, what happened with local, state government?
The Governor on down, where were they? That Mayor certainly made
quite a clear statement on what it was that he needed. But
suprisingly, only to me I'm sure, was his lack of making more radio
addresses after Bush's first visit. Much less the Governor seemed to
disappear.
Many elected officials, but this 3 star General had to come in and
restore some kind of peace. As friends in NYC pointed out, at the
WTC, an American Flag was put up, it was people helping people. But
thos that were able to get to the arena, buses, should have had put
more care for their own...now reaching out for relatives, they should
have considered before they even got their own butt out. Not
terrorized and looted, to where the police even gave up.
My heart goes out still for anyone, an animal they can rescue. And
have really quit watching this horror 24/7. But I'm sure it will
affect the USA more and more.
Only thing, please look up how many times this levy was "supposed" to
be fixed. LA knew. Gov't knew.
Maybe we should quit making this a political forum, I won't anymore,
and knowing me, I started it.
Came up to NJ a month before 9-11, now this. Going to make more plans
to head back to NC to drag these storms with me, I hope, but all this
horror just hearts my heart.
Love Lori, and kiss the piggies for me,
Elizabeth
